I liked the story and the characters personalities, attitudes and how well they were written. The story had a good flow and perfect ending, however onlyngabe it 4 stars because there were a few mix ups with the characters appearance like switching their hair color and some random words or misspellings. So to sum it up the story was great but the editing needed some work. In general I just noticed it but it didn't bother me greatly or ruin the book for me. I still highly recommend the story of Jordan and fraya - they are loveable and sometimes I just wanted to scream at them. ***possible spoilers***I'm a little torn on how to rate this book. I enjoyed most of it, but it clearly had some problems. It had elements of "Playing the Role of Herself" but a little funnier, I think. You should still read that book if you enjoyed this one. The author has a penchant for writing comedic scenes and I really enjoyed reading those. The angst was not melodramatic (which too many f/f writers and readers seem to think make for a good story. It doesn't. Just makes for a lazy author). The stuff that I didn't like:The pacing was a bit jarring. Chapters seemed to end abruptly, leading to the expectation that it would be continued in the next chapter and instead in the new chapter the story had jumped forward by a month! For example, I would have liked to have seen some interaction where the leads meet each other's families and not just Jordan meeting Anna. After a while, I just got used to the abrupt jumps, but the author can do better, I think. This might be personal pet peeve. It really bothers me when American authors try to write British characters speaking British English, who instead sound like Americans. And yes, you can tell when you're reading. The reverse is true in this book. The author is trying to write American characters who live and speak in America. The problem is, they sound British. And while the one character who actually is British sounds as he should, the rest have moments where there's a second of thinking, "wait a second, isn't she from California?" I would suggest an American proofreader next time just to read through the dialogue. Also, a better proofreader in general. This book was my introduction HP Munro's work and like I said, overall I enjoyed it. I'll be on the lookout for future works.
